A new hero, but his familiar theme: Country life does not let go of Wilko Weiss as a writer. In this short novel it's about Tim Brigg and his wife Laura. He writes below his level as a columnist for a local newspaper, she's an advertising designer and brings four fifths of the income home. That's something that Tim could actually not care about, if it weren't for his unbearably successful neighbour Mr. Petersen. This surgeon is athletic, well-read and eloquent, handsome, a connoisseur of wine and competent in all things. When the man goes on his ski vacation, Tim and Laura are looking for his house and pug a bottle of wine for their guests, which turns out to be an antique treasure.
A timeless comedy about neighbourly relationships, about deception and self-deception and about how one can reconcile himself with his fate quite well.

The starting point of this second family comedy about Ben Breuer and his fuzzy family could as well be a good scary movie. Holidays in a strange villa at the lake, with gigantic grounds and an odd couple of young men posing as gardeners and caretakers. With their vital and slightly anarchistic way of life, Lasse and Klitschi are sneaking into the life of the Breuers and even into the heart of Marie. No wonder, as her own husband becomes more and more joyless and angry through all the suppressed worries. Besides he has much too much distrust with the mysterious patron, who by free will switches a gigantic estate with their little house in the middle class district. He's not gonna be a supervillain who has to hide? Will he?
The second volume sparkles like a bathing lake in midsummer: cheerful, but with dark depths.

Der Hausmann | The House Husband
