Die Ampel war grün! | The Light was Green!

Die Ampel war grün! | The Light was Green!

Traffic offender's guide.

In the year 2014, the driver's licence was gone. To his own astonishment Oliver Uschmann was officially considered a traffic offender.
At the height of their phase of narrative non-fiction, the author duo made a deal with each other: If the man manages to stay unscored for a year, the experience from the traffic psychology seminar on the reduction of points, in which he had participated, will be turned into a book.
And so it came! Based on the life stories of five sample characters, this entertaining mixture of reference book, guidebook and dramedy shows, how the constraints of life drive most score collectors to ruin. Because after all, the teacher Jutta, the sales representative Thomas, the truck driver Ralph or the young mother Karin did not became the villains of the street by bad intentions.
This book shows how, despite all the seemingly unavoidable constraints, one can still become more relaxed at the steering wheel.

Krallen rein! | Claws in!

Cat guidebook.

Stop the calendar sheet idyll! This book tells about what it's really like to live together with cats. The four-legged roommates are exhausting personalities with the intelligence of a da Vinci, the capriciousness of a Dalí and the demands of a Queen Cleopatra before the hot bath - and exactly for this we love them!
The stories relentlessly tell about how the little ones rob you of your sleep, place an olfactory explosive in the litter tray in order to saturate the warm shower air or beat up her own conspecific coming home from the veterinary - out of indignation that she makes them worried about her. Cord framed boxes complete the whisker-fine prose and tell incredible stories about feline behavioral psychology and secret conferences in ancient Egypt.
The perfect gift for all those who have fallen for the indomitable rebels.

Bis zum Schluss | Until the End

Bis zum Schluss | Until the End

Guide to dying and death.

The artist Bazon Brock once said the following words: "Death must be abolished, this damned mess has got to stop. Anyone who speaks a word of comfort is a traitor."
This book doesn't speak consolation in the classical sense, but looks disarmingly honest at all phases around the "damned mess" - from the first phone call announcing the fatal illness to handing over the front door key many months later. There is tangible assistance in accompanying the last way. It offers answers for dealing with doctors, life in a hospice, negotiations with the undertaker or the disturbing phenomenon of getting to know the deceased once again through the dissolution of his household. But above all it relieves from the unredeemable aspiration to make everything completely right in the face of death and to solve all open remaining conflicts.

Überleben beim Fußball | Surviving Soccer

Überleben beim Fußball | Surviving Soccer

Soccer Guide.

As this ultimate satirical declaration of love to the most important trivial thing in the world has been published during the World Championship year 2014, the editors of the magazine Elf Freunde | Eleven Friends refused to review the book on their literature pages at all. Years later, we heard from insiders, what the reason was: This pamphlet has been far too sports-conservative for the taste of the turf hipsters from Hamburg; indeed it's a dangerous glorification of old school football, in which bastions like Jürgen Kohler and slandering, hat-wearing retirees next to the field put the world in fear and fright.
One more reason to be proud of this homage to the soul of the game, whose tone ranges from pure comedy to moving episodes with Oliver Uschmann's late father, to whom the book is dedicated.
Satirical sports prose, illustrated with pointed caricatures by master cartoonist Michael Holtschulte.

Überleben auf Partys | Surviving Parties

Party guide.

Germany is the country of poets and thinkers? Germany is the country of hard drinkers and party lions!
May it be a bowling tour, a marksmen's fair or carnival. May it be a foam party or a rave. May it be the eighteenth, the thirtieth or the fiftieth birthday - this collection of fast-paced short stories takes every kind of celebration into account that is maintained in this country. Juicy, detailed prose with real characters and elaborate settings. Valid miniature novels, which all have the potential to be expanded into a whole book. A series of unique episodes including shocking insights into what teenagers do, if you let them have the house or what really goes on in the minds of work colleagues while having trade fair sex with each other, betraying their partners at home.
Right in the middle of it: A disturbingly surreal guest contribution by Sven Amtsberg!

Überleben auf Festivals | Surviving Festivals Überleben auf Festivals - Hörbuch

Überleben auf festivals | Surviving Festivals

Festival guide.

The sun hits a recently mowed field and presses the scent of beer, sweat and friendship from the soil. Ahead lies a new day with great noise, childish nonsense and the voluntarily lonely walk at five in the morning, when from the whirlwind of sounds only the murmur of the forest edges and occasional laughter at distant tents remain. Behind lies a day on which something has been collected that is more important than any vinyl, no matter how rare it is: good memories for life. How could a festival even be better? Well, by sitting in a folding chair with this book and raising your eyes every half a beer in order to actually recognize all the characters, dwellings and situations you have just read about right in front of you in real life.
A beer-squirt resistant companion for many loud summers.

Wenn Männer baden gehen | When Men Go Down the Drain

Wenn Männer baden gehen | When Men Go Down the Drain

Men's satire.

In Hartmut und ich | Hartmut and Me it was the favourite place of the first-person narrator and became a cult object.
In Oliver Uschmann's tour-rider it's the only allure as a condition for the hotel room.
In this collection of exuberant tales it gets its due leading role: The bathtub.
As a leitmotif and a place of retreat, it forms the centre of unerring stories about the great themes in life of the modern man like sex, music, illness, transience, alcohol, procrastination or envy, which is massively underestimated as a restrain on life. The final story about the seminar "GRANT", in which the men learn how to grant others their successes, is a secret highlight in the work of Witt-Uschmann. The book itself was beautifully designed by Lappan as a hardcover with a directly embossed cover picture, great typography and cute bubbles.

Men's Guide.

Men are good at many things. Football. Engineering. Cooking. But they are true masters in the discipline of cultivated self-sabotage. Whether love, money, health or the contact with the own mother - they always fail on the same patterns and pitfalls they have tied themselves.
Using five haunting characters, the book explains why men sometimes have such a hard time and where possible solutions might be found.
The narrative parts are atmospheric dramedy. The advice parts are based on solid personality psychology according to the methods and findings of Transactional Analysis and Script Theory by Eric Berne. If one's really open for this that book can actually change lives. Some touching letters from men who, after reading Error Message have dared to restart their lives, are evidence of this.
