Ads Buat - The Taboo
History of the development of the works of Sylvia Witt.Various work steps and coincidences led to the original prototype of the procedure in 2003. It was still without its own
backlight, but with a foreground motif, and became a personal gift.
In 2006, the 150 x 150 cm Ads Buat - The Taboo was created with the theme of their first novel together, a
contribution to a call for experimental novel writing. He got too demanding even for that.
In contrast to this first picture with its own lighting, the background motifs of the 60 x 60 and 80 x 80 cm large pictures
from Under the Surface are even in the light at least imaginable: Under the surface lurks that which is waiting to be
discovered.
According to the motifs of all picures from Under the Surface:
They consist of original graphics, external graphics, original photos and external photos. The photos and some of the graphics
were varied painted in acrylic. Then all picture elements were scanned or photographed and digitally processed again. Finally
they were, as well as the text elements, printed out and applied to the canvases. This procedure was essential for the preservation
of the transparency. Painting the motifs directly on canvas would not have provided sufficient light transmission for this subject
and amount of text.
With regard to third-party motifs, Section 24 Article 1 UrhG applies.
For better understanding, one intermediate step is shown per image. However, since the processing of the motifs to a
independent work in the intermediate steps despite the strong change that has already taken place possibly
could be disputable, absolutely all motifs of this series are heavily pixelated in the underground views, regardless of whether
already the original motives were drawn or photographed by Sylvia Witt or by other persons.

open in separate windows.
